Cisco Network Engineer - Perm Role, ON-SITE/LOCAL ONLY - No Consultants
Our client is looking for a Cisco Network Engineer in Washington DC. This is a hybrid role but MUST BE LOCAL to go on-site a few days a week. Perm role, no consultants.

- Contribute to network strategy, design, and performance improvements while ensuring alignment with security best practices.
- Provide engineering guidance, technical options, and solution evaluations for enterprise network initiatives.
- Assist in developing network standards, policies, and specifications to support long-term IT objectives.
- Recommend and implement network capacity enhancements, optimization, and lifecycle improvements.
- Analyze the firm’s global infrastructure to drive operational efficiency and maximize ROI.
- Partner with vendors to manage scope of work, validate implementations, and ensure successful delivery.
- Define and monitor network performance KPIs; support capacity and growth planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network incidents to minimize business interruption.
- Install, configure, and support Cisco-based network technologies across domestic and international offices.
- Support and improve Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity capabilities to achieve high availability goals.
- Perform routine and emergency maintenance of network equipment and services.
- Collaborate and elevate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve network or enterprise application issues.
- Maintain detailed documentation, including designs, procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Lead assigned technical projects and ensure timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- Participate in 24/7 global on-call rotation for network operations support.
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience supporting a global Cisco network and voice environment.
- Experience working in a legal or professional services environment preferred.
- CCNA/CCNP certification or equivalent knowledge required; CCIE a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco networking with hands‑on experience in SD‑WAN, QoS, BGP, EIGRP, and core TCP/IP.
- Experience with Cisco SD‑WAN, Cisco ISE, Azure Cloud networking, Palo Alto firewalls, and Prisma Access preferred.
- Proficient with Cisco Nexus, Catalyst 9400/9000 Series switching platforms.
- Familiarity with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and general productivity tools.
- Experience with Linux and automation tools (e.g., Ansible) is an advantage.
- Ability to evaluate complex problems and define practical, scalable solutions.
