The NextJS Developer is responsible for designing, developing, documenting and maintaining software solutions that are managed by the UMGC Student Portal team. This front-end developer position includes the use of web framework technologies to deliver an innovative and optimal user experience in an agile environment.

• Develop high-quality software solutions based on requirements.
• Work in several web technologies, including Next.js, React, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, and CSS.
• Collaborate with the Portal team to estimate, plan, and deliver user stories, bug fixes and tasks within the sprint.
• Collaborate with other teams to identify and implement solutions.
• Follow best practices to guarantee adherence to WCAG 2.2 accessibility standards.
• Perform code, environment, and design reviews to ensure that quality work is being completed.
• Contribute to and lead delivery and deployment processes.
• Collaborate with testers to ensure proper test coverage and resolve any defects; oversee the development and coordination of test plans and execution with QA resources, where appropriate.
• Manage deployment CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot, elevate and respond to incidents, problems, and emergencies with the appropriate level of urgency and professionalism and respond or delegate as needed.
• Participate in daily scrum stand-ups and Agile ceremonies.
• Present to the team solutions to improve the current code base or platform.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in software development, computer science, engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience and technical certificates.

• Ability to analyze technical problems and propose solutions.
• Possesses expertise in the development, testing, and operational support of web applications.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Knowledge and experience using the following technologies:
  Next.js, React, Angular
  
  JS, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JSON, JavaScript, Web Services, XML, and related technologies.
• Proficient with Visual Studio Code.
