Day Shift – Monday‑Friday (8:30-5) – 100% On‑Site

- Provide basic data and voice connectivity, troubleshooting device issues for customers across the Johns Hopkins enterprise
- Perform basic network switch and router configurations and installations, replace printers and phone handsets, resolve data and voice jack issues, patch data cables, and interface with customers to understand their needs
- Handle connectivity issues for clinical care components (scanners, portable computers, clinical workstations, radiology devices, tablets, pagers, security cameras) and less critical networked devices (office computers, copiers, printers, cash registers, parking gates)
- Support service requests from across the organization, including simple connection requests and major clinical construction projects with several hundred devices
- Maintain and troubleshoot over 500 network closets, installations, and upgrades; provide 24×7 on‑site support for all hospital operations
- Collaborate with technical teams, facilities, vendors, and customers; participate in technical discussions and project meetings
- Follow established installation and troubleshooting procedures, documentation, and quality assurance practices
High School Diploma/GED; additional experience may substitute for education.
Required ExperienceFour years of related experience.
Licensure / CertificationCertified Technology Specialist (CTS) preferred.

- Strong understanding of how DHCP and DNS services work
- Demonstrated understanding of IP Addressing
- Strong knowledge of public vs. private IP addressing schemes
- Demonstrated understanding of WAN, routing techniques, and packet analysis
- Ability to articulate and explain the fundamental differences between layer 2 and layer 3 functionality
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot simple IPv4 routing issues for routes located at remote facilities (small edge routers)
- Strong understanding of VLANs and demonstrated ability to configure and validate.
- Crestron systems experience preferred. Strong understanding of web based video conferencing solutions, Teams, Zoom, Web Ex.
- Media/cable selection (Cat5/6, fiber, etc.)
- Network patching and cable management
- Basic device diagnostics and issue resolution
- Network troubleshooting tools (Fluke testers, cable certifiers, toners, etc.)
- Ticketing and change‑management systems
- Hardware replacement tools and standard installation equipment
- Customer service and communication skills
- Ability to gather requirements and understand customer needs
- Coordination with Facilities, vendors, and technical teams
- Participation in technical discussions and project meetings
- Documentation and adherence to procedures
- Task prioritization and time management
- Following established installation and troubleshooting procedures
