Overview

Under minimal supervision of the IT Application Manager, the Application Coordinator/Analyst III is responsible for achieving extensive knowledge of assigned application(s) within the larger Epic system. The Application Coordinator/Analyst III collaborates independently with business and technical resources to lead projects and implement optimization of the system. Reporting to a GBMC Application Manager for Epic applications, the Application Coordinator/Analyst III will review Epic software, analyze business operations and workflows, build the system efficiently, test to ensure desired requirements, adhere to change control procedures, and design, develop and coordinate training materials and environments for users of the Epic system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement internal procedures for vendor 3rd party applications.
  • Lead all phases of system implementations; troubleshoot user problems; resolve helpdesk tickets.
  • Participate in on‑call rotation.
  • Design benchmarking metrics to assess system performance.
  • Apply intermediate understanding of clinical or business operations functions.
  • Maintain documentation, data gathering, and record keeping.
Education

Baccalaureate degree in a health‑related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Registered Nurse or Pharmacist license preferred for clinical analyst applications.

Experience
  • Two years operational experience in a clinical or healthcare business operations setting or in Information Technology.
  • 18 months Epic analyst experience.
  • Extensive understanding of workflows in clinical or healthcare business operations.
Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Analyze, assess, prioritize, and solve complex business and technical problems.
  • Incorporate policies and procedures into training.
  • Multi‑task and self‑prioritize outstanding work.
  • Critical thinking skills for clinical/business operations software applications.
  • Detailed understanding of clinical/business operations workflows and system configuration.
  • Technical design expertise for related software applications.
  • Project management principles and risk mitigation.
  • Provide all Tier level support to end users.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing clinical and/or healthcare business information systems in a large‑scale health organization.
  • Epic certification in the module(s) represented.
  • Experience in Epic installations.
  • Knowledge of the current healthcare environment.
  • Experience developing business and/or clinical workflows related to the assigned application module.
Certification

Required to complete and pass certification in assigned Epic application module(s) within 120 days of employment.

Patient & Workplace Safety
  • Knowledge and understanding of patient and workforce safety as it relates to job duties.
Patient Population
  • Competency in the delivery of care and application of knowledge to meet age‑specific needs if applicable.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Establish project timeline with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Manage full life cycle of large‑size complex projects.
  • Collaborate with department heads, vendors, and consultants.
  • Document system design, procedures, data flows, project plans, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate multi‑application projects and serve as project, testing, or migration lead.
  • Lead and mentor lower‑level analysts.
  • Troubleshoot data and interface issues in Epic.
  • Adhere to change management policies.
  • Provide high‑quality support to stakeholders.
