Informix 4GL Consultant

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in performing, developing, and troubleshooting in a Unix/Linux shell programming environment for mission-critical applications.
• Designing, developing, and troubleshooting routines utilizing Informix ISQL/4GL code/programming.
• Utilizing Informix C-ISAM, a library of C language functions to manage Index Sequential Access Methods.
• Experience working on Windows-based operating systems, including Windows 7.
• Utilizing version control tools such as Visual Source Safe (VSS), Team Foundation Server (TFS), or equivalent.
• Proficiency with Power Term 6.1.0 or other Windows-based terminal emulation tools.
• Interfacing with internal and external IT customers and users, managing project coordination, business requirements, service level agreements, problem resolution, and system downtime.
• DBA experience developing applications in Informix ISQL/4GL, C-ISAM, Standard Engine (SE), and other DBMS platforms, including data management, schema design, security, and redundancy.
• Knowledge of database architecture, high availability, disaster recovery, normalization, query optimization, and data modeling.
• Extensive experience designing and coding applications on Unix/Linux platforms using Ace Reports for Informix applications.
• Utilizing Active Directory for login and connectivity.

• Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Proficiency in creating technical and user documentation.
• Experience with Office Professional Suite 2003 or newer.
• Strong team collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in application security evaluation.
• Project management experience.
• Development experience with Fortran.
• Support experience with Access DB Applications.
• Experience supporting Human Resources and Payroll applications.
• At least 1 year of experience in Perl programming.
• Experience with FTPC
  32 for file transfers.
• Experience with Maximo for service requests.

Education: 4-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, IT, or a related field.
