Job DescriptionThe DA2s serve as behavioral scientists for AI systems, defining what constitutes “normal” behavior before identifying anomalies. In Phase 1, they conduct controlled experiments across various AI models, including commercial services and open‑source models deployed locally, to observe resource utilization, API interaction patterns, and output features. They analyze telemetry data from these systems to establish statistical baselines and create anomaly detection algorithms that can differentiate between typical operational variations and security issues.
A key aspect of their work involves distinguishing between conversational AI that functions in discrete sessions and autonomous AI agents that maintain persistent states and can alter their workflows. The Level 2 Data Analyst shall possess the following capabilities:
- Python data analysis (pandas, scikit‑learn, numpy)
- Statistical analysis and anomaly detection
- Data visualization skills
- Understanding of APIs and how systems communicate
- Ability to document and explain results to senior leadership
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks (Tensor Flow, PyTorch, Hugging Face)
- Understanding of how AI systems behave (conversational vs. autonomous agents)
- Cybersecurity or threat detection background
- Security clearance or clearance eligibility
- Will analyze behaviors of commercial AI services (ChatGPT, Claude) and open‑source models
- Will build detection algorithms for AI‑specific anomalies
- Will work with large telemetry datasets
- Will establish what “normal” AI behavior looks like for the Government’s environment
- Six (6) years of demonstrated experience as a data analyst in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- Three (3) years of demonstrated experience in cybersecurity activities in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
- DoD 8570 compliance Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I or Level II certification
- Computing Environment (CE) certification (Microsoft OS, CentOS/Red Hat OS)
- Successful completion of the Splunk software training course “Fundamentals 1”
Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph.
