LTSS Maryland Application Development Architect; IT Assistant Director III

The LTSS Maryland Application Development Architect serves as the senior technical authority for the LTSSMaryland system at the Maryland Department of Health's Office of Enterprise Technology in Baltimore. This IT Assistant Director III position provides leadership over application architecture, software development standards, and enterprise solution design, overseeing vendor activities, conducting code and architecture reviews, and ensuring software solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with state IT strategy.

The role is eligible for hybrid telework and involves mentoring technical staff, advising program leadership on complex system design and risk mitigation, and researching emerging technologies to support healthcare operations.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
• At least 7 years of IT and business/industry work experience
• At least 3 years as a technical expert in IT organization coaching and mentoring junior staff
• At least 3 years experience working with Medicaid or related healthcare organizations
• Experience with code reviews, architecture reviews, software quality assurance in enterprise environments
• Knowledge of application security, system scalability, software development lifecycle methodologies, and enterprise architecture principles
