The Geospatial Application Developer serves as a technical lead within the Maryland Department of Planning's Geospatial Applications and Technology Unit, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web-based GIS solutions and applications. The role involves advanced geospatial analysis, Python and SQL programming, ArcGIS development, and leading the integration of new GIS tools and best practices across the department.
Key qualifications:- Six years of administrative or professional work experience (or equivalent education substitution)
- Deep familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Pro
- Advanced programming skills in Python, SQL, JavaScript, and related languages
- Experience developing interactive web-based GIS applications and dashboards
- Experience managing spatial databases such as Microsoft SQL Server
- Strong communication and cross-functional team coordination skills
