Independent Contractor Paralegal – AI-Assisted Brief Drafting

Position Summary

Ogletree Deakins seeks an experienced independent contractor paralegal to prepare arbitration briefs using AI tools as part of the drafting workflow. Assignments may include:

• Arbitration hearing briefs
• Oppositions to motions for summary judgment
• Oppositions to fee petitions

You will receive access to AI tools and instructions to generate briefs for attorney review. Completion of briefs is expected to take 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on complexity.

• Proven experience drafting briefs; litigation experience preferred.
• Strong legal writing skills and mastery of citation formats.
• Meticulous attention to detail, clear writing style, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in California is $50 to $100 per brief. Placement in the range will be determined based on factors such as internal equity, market data, and the candidate’s experience and skills. The Final date to receive applications for this position is March 31st, 2026

Baltimore position is between $50 to $100 per brief

Washington DC position is between $50 to $100 per brief

Maryland position is between $50 to $100 per brief

New Jersey position is between $50 to $100 per brief

• Payment upon timely delivery per assignment terms.
