Position Summary
Ogletree Deakins seeks an experienced independent contractor paralegal to prepare arbitration briefs using AI tools as part of the drafting workflow. Assignments may include:
- Arbitration hearing briefs
- Oppositions to motions for summary judgment
- Oppositions to fee petitions
You will receive access to AI tools and instructions to generate briefs for attorney review. Completion of briefs is expected to take 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on complexity.
Essential Functions- Use AI tools for first-pass brief generation.
- Perform human editing, verify authorities, and ensure accuracy.
- Apply style, formatting, and procedural compliance for the relevant forum.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to privilege and work-product boundaries.
- Complete conflicts checks prior to engagement.
- Submit completed draft briefs within agreed timelines.
- Ensure quality control and compliance with assignment specifications.
- Proven experience drafting briefs; litigation experience preferred.
- Strong legal writing skills and mastery of citation formats.
- Meticulous attention to detail, clear writing style, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

BenefitsIn accordance with applicable laws and regulations, as of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current scale range for this position in California is $50 to $100 per brief. Placement in the range will be determined based on factors such as internal equity, market data, and the candidate’s experience and skills. The Final date to receive applications for this position is March 31st, 2026
Colorado position is between $50 to $100 per brief
New York State position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Baltimore position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Washington DC position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Washington position is between $50 to $100 per brief
illinois position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Minnesota position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Maryland position is between $50 to $100 per brief
New Jersey position is between $50 to $100 per brief
Compensation- $50-$100 per brief depending on complexity
- Independent contractor status (This role does not qualify for benefits).
- Payment upon timely delivery per assignment terms.
- Contractors are responsible for their own taxes, insurance, licensure, tools, and compliance.
