Construction Project Manager

MBP is seeking new Team Members for growth opportunities and to work on meaningful projects in a higher education school environment to assist with the planning, design, and construction for a mix of higher education, academic, and campus infrastructure projects. This position is based in Baltimore, Maryland and requires 10+ years of combined education and/or experience that demonstrates advanced knowledge and expertise in construction project management, CMAR, design and constructability review, project planning, QA/QC field inspection and management, project controls including scheduling and cost estimating, and project close‑out including commissioning, acceptance, and building turnover to operations support.

• Assist the Owner’s Project Management staff in managing a project’s overall effort for the client, including assisting in managing a team and coordinating the work of various project entities (designer, contractor, owner personnel).
• Assist in preparation, monitoring, and managing client project budgets and internal budgets, analyzing and optimizing internal and external processes.
• Maintain positive and productive working relationships with peer leaders, superiors, and subordinates.
• Provide on‑site owner’s representation and site‑staff augmentation support on tasks as assigned.
• Conduct site visits, identify potential engineering problems, and propose solutions and alternatives.
• Provide subject‑matter technical engineering expertise and support and assist in reviewing technical work on assigned projects.
• Monitor progress, utilization and quality of work produced as assigned.
• Help manage, direct, and coordinate the work of assigned staff.
• Assist with mentoring and facilitating the imparting of technical knowledge to staff, including the transfer of knowledge from more senior personnel to those with less experience.
• Adjust workload to changes and work to meet deadlines.

• Engage in business development, participate in marketing activities, actively participate in company initiatives, and assist in providing project management on small to mid‑size projects.
• Help prepare, monitor, and manage the client’s project budgets; work closely with the project accountant to manage individual multipliers, utilization forecasts, and project margins.
• Attend and participate in professional association meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of civil engineering.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Expertise with MBP's diverse services and direct client contact and client care.
• Operate at expert level in one or more service areas with responsibility for final work product.
• Capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Ability to work on‑site to support the owner’s project management team.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Ability to analyze and optimize internal and external processes.
• Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
• Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.

• Generally able to work independently and determine solutions.
• Provide training to less experienced personnel.
• Assist in managing the profitability of projects and their forecasted budgets.
• Receive overall guidance on emphasis and approach.

• Capable of supervising individuals and teams; generally performs in a managerial role, coordinating and monitoring the efforts of the project design team and client stakeholders.

$107,000 – $154,000 per year
