Why This Role MattersThe Stationary Engineer Plant Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of facility plant systems. This position oversees daily operations, maintenance, and performance of boilers, HVAC, mechanical systems, and other critical infrastructure while leading a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff. The role blends hands‑on technical expertise with strong leadership to support operational excellence and Didlake's mission‑driven work environment.
WhatYou Will Do
- Lead and supervise the plant operations team, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of boilers, chillers, compressors, pumps, HVAC systems, and related equipment
- Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and repairs as needed to ensure issues are resolved correctly the first time
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including OSHA and EPA standards
- Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance programs and emergency response procedures
- Monitor energy usage and implement efficiency and cost‑saving improvements
- Manage plant budgets, procurement activities, and vendor relationships
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, certifications, and operational logs
- Collaborate with internal departments to support facility needs and capital improvement projects
- Provide 24/7 on‑call support as required to maintain uninterrupted operations
