Position OverviewWe are currently seeking an experienced and skilled CNC/Lathe Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This hands‑on role is responsible for operating manual and CNC machines (mills and lathes) to produce high‑quality parts according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will be detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and capable of working independently in a fast‑paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
- Set up and operate various manual and CNC mills and lathes.
- Operate simple machine tools such as presses, saws, and shears.
- Produce machined parts according to technical drawings and design specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints and sketches to ensure accuracy in dimensions and tolerances.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, materials, attachments, and accessories for each job.
- Examine and measure completed parts using calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other basic inspection tools.
- Verify parts meet predetermined specifications and adjust machine controls as needed to resolve errors.
- Inspect machinery, perform routine maintenance, and conduct minor repairs within skill level.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational/technical school training or trade apprenticeship preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
- Skilled in operating a wide range of machine tools and machining equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.
- Prolonged periods of standing and bending.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
