Job Description: Clean Harbors Baltimore, MD is looking for a Shop Foreman to join their safety conscious team! The position will be overseeing a newly created fabrication shop with state‑of‑the‑art tooling and equipment. The Shop Foreman is responsible for the metal fabrication of refuse containers. This position will plan, direct, and monitor all shop employee's activities within an assigned area or unit to maximize efficiencies and process improvements.

The Shop Foreman will use the organization's resources and meet established production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, and wastage targets; and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Managing employee productivity and achieving the targeted objectives set out for production.
  • Implementing plans and processes that have been developed in consultation with senior management.
  • Minimizing manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital.
  • Assisting in the design, improvement, and installation of equipment and systems to improve plant efficiency and meet plant needs.
  • Ensuring effective communication between production workers, supervisors and management staff by adhering to established policies.
  • Assuring attainment of business objectives and production schedules while ensuring product standards that exceed customer expectations.
  • Working with sales and engineering staff to maintain consistent product quality and on‑time delivery.
  • Leading, directing, evaluating and developing talent to attract, develop and retain the best employees, including performance appraisals, salary changes, promotions, transfers, or terminations.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive work environment including personnel development, training, safety and housekeeping.
  • Developing and recommending policies/procedures for security, maintenance and operations, and planning systematic programs for preventive maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with welding procedures, processes and ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct effective presentations.
  • Strong competency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to develop initiatives in an innovative manner for effective resolution.
  • Problem‑solving skills.
  • Must be detail‑oriented and a self‑starter.
  • Excellent planning, organization and coordination skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong time‑management skills.
  • Proven decision‑making abilities.
  • Ability to work both individually and within a team.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen upon hire.
