LEAN TECHNICIAN (2nd Shift)

US-PA-Lancaster

The Engineered Valves site in Lancaster, PA develops and manufactures valves serving the Pharmaceutical, Chemical, and Nuclear industries. Lean Technicians polish hygienic valve products and perform other production activities to ensure products meet quality specifications.

• Inspect production and manufacturing materials for conformance to quality specifications.
• Manually or automatically polish valve bodies to required finishes (35, 25, 20, 15, 11 Ra).
• Use dimensional and surface finish inspection instruments (profilometer, calipers, thickness gauges) to verify finish levels.
• Certify polished bodies, documenting acceptance or rejection.
• Operate air‑powered tools, hand tools, lifting tables and hoists.
• Participate in Kaizen events and suggest continuous‑improvement projects.
• Adhere to environmental, health, safety, quality and process policies; report incidents.
• Maintain 6S cleanliness and safety of the work area.
• Read shop orders and obtain necessary drawings and instructions.
• Track productivity and labor using the Dimensions time‑keeping and barcode systems.
• Communicate with department personnel and supporting departments (EHS, Production, Quality, Engineering, Facilities).
• Train coworkers as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent; related production experience preferred.
• Basic computer operation and familiarity with email, database and data entry.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand production tools.
• Attention to detail and ability to conduct 100 % inspection of polished parts.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; self‑motivated and flexible.
• English reading, writing, speaking, and communication skills.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb regularly and up to 75 lb occasionally; ability to work in a noisy environment.
