Overview
Join the Johns Hopkins Intrastaff team as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Johns Hopkins Hospital (Johns Hopkins Intrastaff). This temporary, full‑time position supports the NICU with comprehensive, age‑appropriate care for well and ill patients.
Responsibilities- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary health team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based neonatal care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about neonatal health, interventions, and discharge planning.
- Assess, diagnose, and intervene in acute and chronic neonatal illness within scope of practice and institutional guidelines.
- Delegate and provide leadership to other NP, PA, LPN, RN, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safety, quality, and excellence in care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and program development for the NICU.
- Implement evidence‑based initiatives directed by nursing and medical leadership.
Rotating 12‑hour days and nights (7 am–7:30 pm, 7 pm–7:30 am). Daily case load: 5–10 patients.
Compensation: $80–$100 / hr (part‑time or full‑time available).
Qualifications- Master’s degree and/or DNP from an accredited school of nursing.
- Completion of an accredited NP program with certification in the required specialty.
- Current Registered Nurse and NP licensure in the state of Maryland.
- Current certification in the area of specialty as an NP by the State of Maryland, the appropriate accrediting national body.
- State of Maryland BLS, NRP, STABLE certification.
- Two years of related clinical nursing experience.
- Advanced research knowledge and the ability to conduct and interpret findings.
- Analytical and interpersonal skills necessary to diagnose patients and to develop and implement plans of action for long‑term and short‑term management of acute and chronic health.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function effectively in a fluid, dynamic, and rapidly changing environment.
