Licensed Practical Nurse, 10-Month - Baltimore City Health Department

Join the City of Baltimore as a Licensed Practical Nurse for a 10‑month position.
Salary Range
: $45,048.00 – $51,429.00 annually.
Starting Pay
: $45,048.00 annually.

A Licensed Practical Nurse provides practical nursing care to patients and clients under the direction of a physician or registered nurse. The role involves no supervisory duties. Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior and may work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends, in clinics, offices, or client homes.

• Two years of experience as a licensed practical nurse.
• Current licensure as a practical nurse in the State of Maryland or a Multi‑State Licensure Compact participant state.

• Knowledge of practical nursing standards and practices.
• Ability to provide practical nursing care.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co‑workers, physicians, registered nurses, other health care professionals, patients, and families.
• Effective oral communication.
• Ability to maintain records.

Background Check
:
Successful completion of a criminal background check and/or fingerprint authorization is required for positions of trust.

Probation
:
All selected candidates must complete a mandatory six‑month probation.

Selection Process
:
Candidates meeting minimum qualifications are placed on the eligible list. Training and experience are evaluated. Successful applicants remain on a certified eligible list for at least six months.
