The SICU Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for applying the nursing process and delivery of patient care inthe Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), sometimes referred to as Post Anesthesia Care Units (PACUs). The Registered Nurse consistently performs according tonursing standards and is accountable for managing patient care post-operativelyand assisting others in the management of patients as they come out of anesthesia.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which thenurse practices
• 2 years of SICU, PACU or ICU experience preferred
• CPAN and CAPA certifications preferred
• ACLS may be required per state/contract
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
