This is for a Registered Nurse position on the Observation Unit at Med Star Union Memorial.
Unit HighlightsWelcome to Medstar Union Memorial, the Heart and Vascular Institute for Medstar Baltimore. The Observation Unit at Medstar Union Memorial is a 25 bed unit that provides care to patients with a variety of illnesses such as chest pain, arrhythmias, renal failure, and congestive heart failure. The unit focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to meet the needs of patients and families.
Patients typically spend 24-48 hours on the Observation Unit and the goal is to provide safe patient care and reduce the time of hospitalization. Gain great experience in telemetry, stroke care, and take advantage of the many educational opportunities Medstar has to offer its nurses. 1 year experience preferred, new to practice considered. ACLS preferred, but not required.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team

- ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
- Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
