Position: RN Substitute School Nurse Per Diem Baltimore and surrounding counties

Substitute School Nurse (RN) – Maryland School Network

At Gohanna Solutions, we’re building a team of Substitute School Nurses (RNs) to support public, private, and charter schools across Baltimore and surrounding Maryland counties.

You’ll provide school-day coverage in a variety of settings, including schools that serve students with special needs as well as other school environments, helping keep students safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

• Calm and confident under pressure, especially in urgent or unpredictable situations
• Comfortable working with children and adolescents with special needs, including students who may be nonverbal or have behavioral challenges
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation skills
• Able to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary school team

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license in Maryland, or valid multistate compact RN license with privilege to practice in Maryland
• Graduate of an accredited RN program
• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, including at least 1 year in pediatric and/or school nursing
• Current BLS (CPR) certification
• Strong documentation and communication skills
• Ability to work confidently and compassionately with school-aged children and adolescents, including those with special needs
• Willingness to travel to and work in more than one school location as assigned

Preferred experience (not required)

• School nursing or nonpublic/special education settings
• Pediatrics or pediatric primary care
• Community/public health, ER/urgent care, or
• Developmental disability services, rehab, or behavioral health
