Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

Med Star Medical Group, part of the largest healthcare system in the Baltimore/Washington region, is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing Orthopedics team at Med Star Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. This is a unique opportunity to work across both inpatient and outpatient settings with a dynamic and supportive team.

• Engaged mentorship and hands‑on training from surgeons, residents, and experienced APPs
• First‑assist in orthopedic surgery, including trauma and ortho‑oncology cases
• Comprehensive exposure to perioperative care: from surgical assist to post‑op management
• Work‑life balance:
  Monday‑Friday schedule, with no weekends, holidays, or night shifts
• Opportunity to grow in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment

• First‑assist in orthopedic surgery
• Conduct admission histories and physicals
• Manage inpatient rounding and discharge planning
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and labs
• Provide post‑operative care in both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (ACNP) who have completed RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification
• Physician Assistants with surgical experience or interest

Note:

FNPs are not eligible for this position due to surgical and inpatient requirements.

• Graduate of an accredited ACNP or PA program
• Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
