Under general supervision, assumes responsibility for the nursing management and evaluation of care provided to patients who participate in the practice of breastfeeding. Functions as a primary care provider in collaboration with physicians and other health team members. Plans, implements and evaluates educational programs related to breast feeding.
EducationAssociate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required
Experience2 years full-time (or equivalent) directly related clinical experience
Skills- Knowledge of techniques and the application of lactation theory.
- Skill in written and oral communication.
- Skill in using computers and personal productivity applications.
- Ability to instruct and support patients.
- Ability to assess patients, plan effective interventions and evaluate outcomes from those interventions.
- Current registration with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses as a Registered Nurse.
- IBCLC certification required.
- Healthcare Provider CPR biennial.
- Additional certifications (i.e. ACLS, PALS, NRP) for specialty care areas are required upon hire.
- Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time.
- Visual acuity, manual dexterity and physical mobility; hear and communicate orally.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, walking and lifting (Up to 20 lbs).
- Normal patient care environment of the post-partum nursery area.
- Routine exposure to body fluids.
$31.25 - $48.02
Final salary offer will be based on the candidate's qualifications, education, experience and alignment with our organizational needs.
