Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring a MD or compact RN license, BLS, and at least two years of neuro critical care experience.

• Work in a Neuro Critical Care Unit (Neuro ICU) within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with severe brain injuries, stroke, brain tumors, and post-operative neurosurgical cases
• Rotating 12-hour shifts, alternating between days and nights
• Three out of six weekends required per schedule
• Two on-call shifts per six-week schedule
• Floating required to ICUs or IMCs with similar skill sets
• Use of Epic EMR is required
• Provide specialized care to neurologically complex patients including those recovering from neurosurgical procedures
• Must be able to effectively interface between brain and other vital organ systems
• Team-oriented environment with orientation offered on the 2nd and 4th Monday each month
• Holiday coverage is required as needed
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at same rate except for specific restrictions by facility/unit

• Active MD or compact RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum two years of neuro critical care nursing experience
• Experience in a hospital with 500+ bed capacity required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Critical Care Certification, and trauma course preferred
