American Traveler is hiring an experienced Telemetry/PCU RN for a night shift assignment requiring an MD or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend
• Float requirement to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Utilizes Cerner charting system

• Active MD RN license or compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response team utilization
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central/peripheral line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with cardiac drip titration, heparin protocols, and post-MI/cardiac catheterization care
• Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management
• Skilled in wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions
• Flu vaccine required

• Provide telemetry-based nursing care to PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac, renal, and post-surgical populations
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drip titrations and monitor for dysrhythmias
• Support feeding tube care, insulin drip titration, and wound care management
• Navy blue scrubs (or navy blue pants with white top) required; scrubs not provided
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Returning Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a reduced rate
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
