American Traveler is hiring an experienced Medical Surgical RN with ortho experience for a day shift position requiring a compact or MD RN license and at least one completed travel assignment.

• Medical Surgical unit with a focus on orthopedic patients
• Patient population includes joint replacements, spinal surgery, orthopedic trauma, hand trauma, and fractures
• Day shift schedule working 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating required between Ortho and Med Surg units
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend

• Active RN license, either compact or MD state license
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required within the last 7 years
• Must have completed at least 1 previous travel assignment
• Required ortho experience including peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacement, and surgical drains
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years

• Care for patients with complex orthopedic and surgical needs including wound care, drain management, and post-surgical monitoring
• Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
• Must reside within a 60-mile radius to qualify for local candidate status, with address verified against driver's license
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
• No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment, with a maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract
• Previous Med Star employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates may only be submitted to one Med Star location at a time
• Manager interviews are not guaranteed
