About the Unit and Role
Sinai Hospital of Baltimore's 29-bed adult Intensive Care Unit cares for cardiac and cardiac surgical patients, along with a broad mix of critically ill adults, inside a Level II Trauma Center. As Assistant Nurse Manager on evenings (Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11 PM), you'll lead the cardiac nursing team alongside physicians and APPs, keep the unit staffed and running safely, and build the leadership experience that prepares you for Nurse Manager and Director roles.

- Evening leadership with weekends off, on a set Monday to Friday schedule
- Work in direct partnership with the Nurse Manager and a physician and APP team that relies on you as the senior nursing leader on evenings
- Grow within Life Bridge Health, a five-hospital system across the Baltimore region with leadership paths across facilities
- Own evening operations for the 29-bed ICU as the on-site nursing leader, making staffing, bed flow, and escalation decisions in real time
- Strengthen cardiac and cardiac surgical care by coaching RNs on hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drips, and post-cardiac surgery recovery
- Drive accountability for quality and safety by tracking nurse-sensitive indicators (CLABSI, CAUTI, falls, pressure injuries) and leading follow-up with staff
- Develop your team through precepting, competency validation, real-time feedback, and input on performance evaluations
- Keep care plans aligned by partnering with physicians and APPs on rounds and keeping patients and families informed
- Extend the Nurse Manager's reach by leading unit initiatives and stepping in as acting manager when needed
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiovascu lar Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of hire; PALS if required by unit - remove if not needed
- 1 to 3 years of critical care (ICU) nursing experience required
- Cardiac ICU (CICU) or Cardiac Surgical ICU (CSICU) experience strongly preferred
- 1 year of formal nursing leadership experience (charge nurse, assistant nurse manager, or supervisor) preferred
- CCRN or CSC certification preferred
- Experience with electronic health records and staffing/scheduling systems
- Clear communicator who makes sound decisions under pressure
