American Traveler is hiring a Behavioral Health RN for a Thought Disorder Unit requiring 2+ years of psychiatric nursing experience and a compact or Maryland RN license.
Requirements- Active RN license (Compact or Maryland) required in hand at time of consideration, temporary licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of behavioral health RN experience required
- Previous charge RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- May be required to serve as charge RN during shifts
- Must pass drug screen on first attempt; facility does not accept medical marijuana cards
- Fingerprinting must be completed in Maryland via Livescan prior to start
- Work on a psychiatric Thought Disorder Unit in a behavioral health hospital setting
- Patient ratio of 1:8
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including to any age population when scheduling requires
- Sunrise (Allscripts) EMR used for charting
- Provide direct patient care within a psychiatric facility with 337 staffed beds
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Free employee parking available on campus
- One pre-approved RTO request allowed, must be submitted with initial profile
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
- Former permanent employees must wait one full year before applying for a travel position
- Candidates applying for a permanent position must wait one year before applying as a traveler
- Orientation held every other Thursday, with required onboarding modules completed during orientation and annually
