American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring C-EFM certification and prior travel assignment experience.

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:50 to 07:20
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Charge nurse coverage expected for qualified candidates
• Will float to Mother Baby unit if qualified
• Scrub role for C-sections if qualified
• Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule
• Every other weekend required

• Active MD RN license or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC (in hand at time of consideration)
• ACLS certification preferred
• 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred, 2 years with strong experience may be considered
• 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required
• Cerner charting system experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
• Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment
• Flu vaccine required

• Provide comprehensive Labor & Delivery nursing care including fetal monitoring, vaginal and C-section delivery support, and postpartum care
• Skills include amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum extraction, hemorrhage/shock management, and IV therapy
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care, Pitocin administration, and newborn care in the delivery room is valued
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Previous Med Star employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
• No more than 7 days of RTO permitted per 13-week contract, with none allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment
