Construction Quality Assurance

Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand

The Quality Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager to plan and coordinate activities of designated construction projects to ensure the goals and objectives are accomplished within a prescribed time frame. Ensures work is completed successfully per the specifications and plans.

• Field Inspections: Perform daily visual, dimensional, mechanical field checks on piping & equipment to ensure the work is in strict accordance with the contract documents
• Inspection and Test Plans: Execute/Oversee site inspections according to the contract documents
• Material & Receiving Inspection: Inspect incoming mechanical equipment, valves, and piping components against approved submittals, mill test reports (MTRs), and packing lists
• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and document pressure tests, such as hydrostatic or pneumatic testing of piping systems
• Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs): Identify, document, and track work deviations or defects, issuing NCRs and working with field superintendents on corrective actions
• Documentation & Turnover: Maintain daily quality logs, as-built markup records, and project turnover packages for the client

• 5+ years of experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil Engineering related experience
• Ability to oversee projects and employees.
• Ability to compute and interpret charts and graphs.
• Ability to schedule and prioritize all work assignments
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of diverse individuals.

This position has no direct supervisory responsibility, but works closely with Project Coordinators and may assign tasks as necessary.

Pleasant and safe working atmosphere and conditions, which at times, may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The majority of work is performed in a standard office environment.

Light physical effort, requires handling of average-weight objects up to 15 pounds and some standing and walking.
