The Department of Mental Health is seeking a Research Program Assistant (RPA) for a project within the Center for Prevention and Early Intervention. The RPA will assist in the recruitment of participants and in the collection of quantitative and qualitative data obtained through interviews with preteens and their parents enrolled in the study.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities- Verifying and logging confidential data into a centralized database and communicating with the multiple participants around the assessments.
- Conducting interviews with preteens and their parents.
- Meet regularly with the research team as part of daily debriefing meetings.
- Maintain good working knowledge of all assigned study protocols and reporting requirements.
- Maintain compliance with IRB regulations and Certificate of Confidentiality regulations.
- Collaborate with center investigators and staff to efficiently move research projects and proposals forward.
- Some evening and weekend work will be required.
- Travel to and from participants' locations throughout the study; travel in and around the Baltimore metropolitan area as needed.
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Six months of work experience.
- Must clear Johns Hopkins and Baltimore City Public Schools criminal background and fingerprinting checks.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Successful candidate will be responsible for participating in and passing all training assessments to continue with employment.
- Bachelor's Degree or some college coursework.
- Experience working with interviewing and confidential data.
- Proficiency with laptops, tablets, computers, and MS Office applications.

Salary Range
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on Johns Hopkins University's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.
