Sr. Research Project Coordinator (Health Policy & Management)

We are seeking a Sr. Research Project Coordinator who will oversee the day-to-day activities of a single complex or multiple research projects and makes independent decisions that impact the conduct of the research. Assists in goal setting and creating implementation plans. Contributes to budget formulation, communications, and data systems.

The Sr. Research Project Coordinator supports a portfolio of interdisciplinary research and policy projects in collaboration with faculty at the Center for Mental Health and Addiction Policy, the Hopkins Housing and Health Collaborative, and the Hopkins Business of Health Initiative. Manages project operations, coordinates collaboration across research centers, and helps translate findings from mental health, addiction, and health policy studies into actionable insights for policymakers and partners.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist Principal Investigator or more senior research staff to ensure operational feasibility of proposed protocol/study design.
  • Develop standard operating procedures and data collection forms based on understanding of underlying study design.
  • Develop or oversee design and implementation of study procedures and tools for data collection, e.g. participant interviews, administer questionnaires, background research, laboratory processing, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with all protocols, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Participate in developing study budget.
  • Set up data collection system and ensure validity of study data.
  • Organize and quality control study data.
  • Recommend and implement changes to protocol operations based on results and goals.
  • Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
  • Abstract and index information based on knowledge of subject matter.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties
  • Develop and maintain project workplans, deliverable trackers, and funder progress reports.
  • Draft and edit policy briefs, web content, and public-facing materials summarizing research findings.
  • Serve as primary contact for external collaborators, including state agencies, health systems, and foundations.
  • Plan and coordinate webinars, meetings, and small convenings for research dissemination.
  • Assist faculty and trainees with conference materials, abstracts, and policy presentations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and produce concise, clear deliverables.
