Laboratory Technician – Mouse Research (Biochemistry & Molecular Biology)
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician – Mouse Research who will perform routine lab processes and follow standard protocols under close supervision.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Operate standard equipment.
- Use standard procedures for specific laboratory tests and preparation techniques.
- Responsible for laboratory maintenance, preparing solutions, and ordering supplies.
- Identify and report problems in the completion of routine lab processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
In addition to the duties described above:
- Routinely handle mice and perform therapeutic studies on mice.
- High school diploma or graduation equivalent.
- Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
- Some science coursework and/or training certificate from a technical institute.
- One year of laboratory research experience with handling mice (e.g., injecting mice, treating mice).
- Prior experience working with microscopy and/or basic molecular biology is desirable.
