OverviewOur client is a successful small, local restaurant group opening a new restaurant concept in the Avenue area of Hampden. We’re hiring an experienced Chef to lead the culinary program for a new dinner only 200-seat Italian restaurant opening in early 2026. This role is ideal for a chef with a strong independent restaurant background who enjoys building a kitchen from the ground up.
Italian cuisine experience is preferred, but chefs with French, Spanish, or American backgrounds and a passion for Italian food are encouraged to apply.
- Lead all day-to-day kitchen operations
- Develop and execute seasonal menus with consistency
- Manage inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Hire, train, and lead kitchen staff
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Foster a positive, collaborative kitchen culture
- 8+ years of professional culinary experience
- Background in independent, chef-driven restaurants
- Strong foundation in Italian cuisine (or French/Spanish/American with interest in Italian)
- Proven leadership, communication, and organization skills
- Comfortable working 10-hour shifts, 5 days/week
Base Salary: minimum $100k salary and flexible over $100k+ based on experience & situation.
