Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Sous Chef at Thompson Washington D.C., located in the Washington DC-Baltimore Area. The Sous Chef will assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and oversee kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service. Responsibilities include menu planning, inventory and cost management, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and contributing to the development and presentation of creative and innovative dishes.
Qualifications- Culinary skills in food preparation, recipe execution, and plating techniques
- Team leadership, staff training, and kitchen management experience
- Understanding of inventory management, cost control, and menu planning
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance
- Passion for culinary innovation and delivering exceptional dining experiences
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred
- Prior experience in a similar role at a fine-dining establishment is a plus
