The Public Safety Officer I plays a key role in ensuring the safety and security of patients, visitors, and staff within our healthcare facilities. This position supports a secure, welcoming environment by monitoring hospital grounds, responding to emergencies, and enforcing safety protocols. • Patrol hospital entrances, units, parking areas, and grounds to deter hazards and ensure safety.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, access control points, and alarm systems.
• Respond to calls for assistance, providing escorts, directions, and support to staff, patients, and visitors.
• Enforce safety and security policies, including weapons screening and access control.
• Assist with emergency response, crowd control, and incident coordination with clinical teams.
• Conduct inspections of emergency exits, equipment, and life safety systems.
• Document incidents and maintain accurate activity logs.
• Participate in required training – including CPR, Narcan, Stop the Bleed, and de‑escalation.
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and respect for all individuals.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and Samba Safety risk scores.
• At least 1 year of security or customer service experience preferred.
• Must be 21 years old (exceptions for those under 21 with prior military, law enforcement, or comparable healthcare security experience).
• Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, occasionally run or climb stairs, restrain individuals as part of a team, and lift 50+ lbs.
• Strong communication, decision‑making, and interpersonal skills.

• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and frequent walking/standing.
• Requires bending, reaching, running, climbing stairs, and occasional physical restraint as part of a team.

Salary Range:
Minimum $17.11/hour - Maximum $28.26/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
