Job Description

  • Conduct thorough and detailed training on a range of different topics with guard force
  • Select and conduct appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. real life scenarios and simulations, mentoring, on-the-job training, orientation classes)
  • Keep accurate records and logs of all training conducted
  • Conduct organization-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Use experience and knowledge and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills
  • Gather feedback from Training Manager and your trainees after each educational session
  • Partner with Client and liaise with your leaders to accomplish any last minute requirements
  • Maintain updated curriculum database and training records
  • Manage and maintain local IC training office and equipment
  • Research and recommend new training methods when needed
  • Be prepared to help with post coverages when the need arises
  • Be available to work differing hours and shifts based on client/officer needs
Qualifications

  • Communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally, in writing, and over various communications systems
  • Ability to greet and deal tactfully with everyone on site
  • Exercise of good judgment, courage, alertness, an even temperament, and ability to render satisfactory performance through knowledge of his/her position responsibilities
  • Ability to maintain poise and self-control during situations that involve mental stress; such as fire emergencies, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations
  • Capability of understanding and applying written and verbal orders, rules, and regulations
  • Ability to interpret printed rules and regulations, detailed written orders, training instructions and materials from the Training Manager
  • Be able to meet all applicable licensing, registration and certification requirements in the state in which the officer's assigned facility is located
