SalaryAnnual: $61,465 – $80,198
Job DescriptionA Heating and Air Conditioning Technician III diagnoses and resolves system-wide environmental control problems, maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning and related equipment. The role involves no supervisory duties, operates on a 24‑hour on‑call basis, and requires moderate physical exertion.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Four years of experience in HVAC and refrigeration maintenance and repair.
- Six months of additional experience may substitute one year of education.
- EPA approved C.F.C. Certificate of Completion – Technician Type I or Type II required upon hire.
- Valid Maryland Class C non‑commercial driver’s license (out‑of‑state equivalent acceptable).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Knowledge of hot water and steam plants, air atomizing and rotary burners, and absorption, centrifugal, and reciprocating chilling plants.
- Knowledge of pneumatic temperature control systems, variable air and constant air volume systems, and safety practices for HVAC systems.
- Ability to repair, overhaul, and calibrate all types of heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems; read blueprints and engineering specifications; operate a computer to override manual heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems; lift heavy objects (75‑100 lbs).
