Pay Range

$25.00/hr - $29.00/hr

Position Purpose

Carpenters perform all aspects of carpentry including rough carpentry, formwork and concrete placement. The majority of their tasks require physical labor in an outdoor environment on a construction site.

Essential Job Functions
  • Rebar: Proficient in rebar installation, cutting and bending rebar as directed, and securely fastening it in concrete structures. Possessing knowledge of rebar types and sizes. Ability to install rebar efficiently and accurately to pass inspection.
  • Rough Carpentry: Skilled in rough carpentry, adept at building wooden structures and features such as fascia, soffit, and framing; and installing structural components with accuracy. Ability to select appropriate materials, and employ industry-standard tools to construct sturdy frameworks for all projects. Demonstrates a keen understanding of safety protocols and quality craftsmanship in all rough carpentry tasks.
  • Formwork: Expert in formwork construction, proficiently implementing diverse formwork systems to shape and support concrete structures. Ability to assemble formwork systems for walls, slabs, and columns and other various components. Demonstrates precision in alignment and measurement, adhering to safety standards while optimizing efficiency in formwork installation and removal processes.
  • Pouring Concrete: Proficient in pouring concrete with precision and expertise. Skilled in executing accurate placement techniques. Knowledgeable in managing curing processes, and adhering to safety protocols. Demonstrates efficiency in coordinating with construction teams and utilizing industry best practices for successful concrete pouring in various project scenarios.
  • Carpentry Tools: Highly skilled in the operation and maintenance of a wide array of carpentry tools, including saws, drills, and measuring instruments. Proficient in selecting and using the appropriate tools for specific tasks, ensuring precision and efficiency in carpentry projects. Demonstrates a keen understanding of tool safety, calibration, and troubleshooting, contributing to a safe and productive work environment.
Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of construction experience and at least two (2) years specializing in carpentry.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods of time; use hands to touch, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders, squat and bend over.
