Position: General Maintenance Technician I

Overview

General Maintenance Technician I at Caesars Entertainment. The role involves maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and building systems within casino facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assists with repairs of mechanical equipment including heating, ventilation, air conditioning equipment, fan coils, chiller and boiler preventive maintenance, pumps, water softener systems, cooling towers, energy management systems, and electrical work, including wiring motors and motor controls.
  • Assists with installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all building automation systems (BAS) and equipment.
  • Install, connects, and tests plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, cleanouts, copper piping, etc.
  • Check electrical circuits, refrigeration controls and contacts.
  • Work with power ranging from low to medium voltages.
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance of all HVAC and refrigeration equipment; maintain inventory of supplies under guidance of Facilities Manager.
  • Operate Energy Management System and regular maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance and work under preventative maintenance and work order programs.
  • Complete and submit paperwork in a timely manner to keep the work order system updated.
  • Operate scissor and boom lifts and climb ladders to access elevated areas; use and maintain daily tools and equipment for troubleshooting on site.
  • Repair and maintain electrical equipment; work with wood and metal in building structures and install cabinets.
  • Assist with construction and finishing work; repair furniture, doors, slot machine stands, and gambling tables; fabricate office partitions, doors, cornices, counters, panel walls and ceilings.
  • Replace burned-out light bulbs, check electrical circuits, and repair dimmers, refrigeration controls and contacts.
  • Prepare surfaces for paints, varnishes, sealers and rust-proofing.
  • Conduct regular inspections of life safety systems, including fire extinguishers.
  • Maintain offices, shops, and mechanical areas within company standards; install and/or repair carpet and vinyl flooring as directed; resurfacing on minor reconstruction of wood furniture; perform carpet repairs and installations.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures, communicate activities and issues to other shifts, participate in inclement weather emergencies, and work with Maintenance II team members to develop skills.
  • Submit requests for parts, equipment, tools and supplies in a timely manner; take inventory as assigned.
  • Use computer systems for tracking maintenance activities, email, calendars, purchasing, and training as needed.
  • Learn and follow company policies, procedures, and regulations related to operations, guest relations, safety, security and loss prevention.
  • Maintain safety awareness and operate lifts safely.
  • Drive and operate company vehicles.
  • Respond to and resolve guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate required.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a specific skill area or one (1) year plus educational requirements from an accredited institution; previous mechanical maintenance experience required.
Qualifications
  • Good working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Protect guest privacy and handle information in accordance with company policies.
  • Display urgency, handle stress professionally, and adjust to changing demands.
  • Physical requirements:

    ability to lift up to 40 lbs; ability to push/pull/carry; ability to maneuver throughout the casino; able to stand, bend, twist, climb ladders; capable of lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in areas with low visibility and high noise levels and secondary smoke; ability to work at a fast pace in stressful situations.
  • Must be able to respond to visual, olfactory, and aural cues.
Compensation & Benefits
