Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance (SSFA) is seeking a Lead Coordinator to oversee day-to-day logistics and operations for our after-school and community-based enrichment programs across Baltimore. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equitable access to safe, structured, and meaningful programming for youth by coordinating schedules, transportation, communication, and documentation.
The Lead Coordinator works across school and community sites, supporting families, coaches, volunteers, and school partners. Work hours may vary based on program needs and typically include afternoon and evening hours, with some weekends required during peak seasons.
This position is classified as hybrid, meaning a combination of administrative coordination and in-person support at multiple on-site and off-site program locations throughout Baltimore. Hybrid does not mean remote or work‑from‑home only. The Lead Coordinator must be physically present at assigned sites during program hours, events, and activities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage practice, game, and event schedules across multiple school and community sites
- Coordinate transportation logistics and support safe student arrivals and departures
- Communicate consistently with families, school liaisons, coaches, and volunteers (phone, email, and in person)
- Support coaches with rosters, attendance tracking, and equipment needs
- Organize registration efforts and collect required participation forms and documentation
- Monitor participant attendance and enter data into SSFA systems
- Provide on‑site supervision and problem‑solving support during program hours
- Assist with volunteer coordination as needed
- Report regularly to the Executive Director and Operations leadership and escalation when appropriate
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities
- High school diploma required; some college or equivalent experience preferred
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel between program sites
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift up to 20-50 pounds when moving equipment
- Combination of administrative coordination and active, on‑site program support
- Work in indoor and outdoor environments with cold and warm weather conditions
- Evening and weekend hours during peak programming periods
- Local travel between partner sites within Baltimore (mileage reimbursement may apply)
- Lead logistics that directly expand access to youth programming
- Play a key role in strengthening school and community partnerships
