Job Description
  • The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery and maintenance of mission‑critical applications and services supporting city government initiatives.
  • This role focuses on .NET and Microsoft technologies to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance applications while providing technical leadership and driving continuous improvement across development processes.
Requirement / Must Have
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Recent 8 years of Microsoft .NET and Azure development experience.
  • 5 years of application development experience.
  • 2 years of experience as an application development lead.
Experience
  • Experience designing and developing scalable .NET applications.
  • Experience in code quality, code reviews, and mentoring developers.
  • Experience conducting requirements analysis with cross‑functional teams.
  • Experience leading development teams and ensuring best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Experience optimizing application performance.
  • Experience developing and maintaining integrations with third‑party systems.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement in development practices.
Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of scalable and maintainable .NET applications.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code.
  • Conduct code reviews and support junior developers.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to refine technical requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and ensure adherence to development best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex bugs and technical issues.
  • Optimize applications for performance and scalability.
  • Maintain integrations with external systems and APIs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and improve development processes.
Should Have
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Local government experience is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in C#, , HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, and Blazor.
    • Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
    • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS, RS).
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
    • Strong experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
    • Understanding of SDLC models and application development processes.
    • Strong grasp of object‑oriented design patterns.
    • Experience with BI reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.
Qualification and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
