We are seeking a SQL Developer for a 12+ month contract position in Baltimore, Maryland to support client project initiatives in the financial services space. You will develop and maintain data integrations, reporting solutions, and automation workflows while advancing cloud and data strategies using leading platforms and tools.
Responsibilities- Own the development, coding, and bug-fixing for small to mid-sized projects, including creating, updating, or fixing data integrations, SSRS reports, and data loads into Snowflake
- Execute ad-hoc development projects building data integration feeds, SSRS reports, and automation solutions
- Maintain effective communication with the Scrum Master, team members, project sponsors, and other stakeholders
- Actively participate in daily standups and bi-weekly backlog grooming sessions as part of an Agile framework team (meetings held virtually via Microsoft Teams or in person)
- Submit automation projects for peer review and change management prior to production deployment
- Complete additional related duties or projects as required, which may include facilitating daily standups in the role of Scrum Master
- Required
- Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field
- 5+ years of application development experience
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and Agile Scrum boards
- Hands-on experience with data and API integration projects
- Experience writing complex SQL scripts
- Strong SQL knowledge
- Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, Tableau)
- Experience with ETL tools
- Preferred
- Financial services or asset management industry exposure or experience
- Experience with financial accounting and trading technologies (such as Charles River Investment Management Solution or Advent APX Portfolio Management and Accounting)
- Experience with integration technologies (such as SSIS)
- Experience with automation tools (Automate)
- Experience with Jira and Confluence or similar project visualization tools (such as Rally)
- Experience with Snowflake
- Power Shell experience
- Experience with Git Hub
- Experience with MS Office Automation
- Strong customer service orientation
- Desire and ability to learn new skills and tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues on technical and non-technical matters
- Ability to work well as an individual contributor and within a team dynamic
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Strong prioritization and time management abilities
