Due to ongoing growth and new programme wins, our client is seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team.
Your new role
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in the design and development of complex engineered products, working in a highly regulated and quality-driven environment. You will be involved throughout the product lifecycle, from concept development to production support.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing mechanical components and assemblies using 3D CAD software (e.g. CATIA / Siemens NX / Solid Works)
Supporting the development of new products in line with customer and regulatory requirements
Conducting design validation, testing, and performance analysis
Producing detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
Supporting manufacturing teams with design for manufacture (DFM) and continuous improvement initiatives
Investigating and resolving design-related issues and non-conformances
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including stress, certification, and production engineering
Ensuring all designs meet strict industry standards, safety, and compliance requirements
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have:
A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in mechanical design within a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. aerospace, automotive, or similar)
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (CATIA, NX, or Solid Works preferred)
Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience with design validation, testing, and product development cycles
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
