Gordons Chemists is Northern Ireland’s largest independent pharmacy chain with 55 stores across the region. We are expanding our private professional services offering and need a Health Check Practitioner to conduct Gordons Health Checks across our stores.
Responsibilities- Deliver Gordons Health Checks in a number of stores on a rotational basis.
- Interface with store staff and customers to promote the Health Check service.
- Complete Health Check tests with sensitivity within store consulting facilities, including finger‑prick blood samples.
- Manage pre‑booked and ad‑hoc appointments within pharmacies.
- Engage customers and communicate effectively to promote, upsell and deliver services.
- Possibility of future team‑management responsibilities.
- Accurately record and submit relevant data and communicate clearly with patients.
- Perform other duties as required to facilitate the rollout and development of the service.
- Qualified Nurse or Midwife (practising or non‑practising, no fitness‑to‑practice concerns).
- Other qualified Health Care Professional (Paramedic, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, Phlebotomist, Dental Technician/Nurse, etc.).
- Trained Pharmacy Dispensary team members.
- Previous nursing or healthcare experience.
- Vaccinated against Hepatitis B or willing to be vaccinated.
- Hard‑working, enthusiastic, and professional patient‑care oriented.
- Excellent communication and patient‑safety awareness.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic, flexible and a “can‑do” attitude.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements.
- Self‑initiative and ability to promote and deliver service offerings.
- Willingness to complete Phlebotomy training or other role‑specific qualifications as required.
- Required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
- UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Flexible to work in all Gordons Chemist branches.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Previous management experience.
- Experience in a similar environment.
- Previous phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
- Experience in a private healthcare setting.
This role requires working throughout all Gordons Chemist branches across Northern Ireland.
Duration & Working HoursFull‑time, permanent: 40 hours per week, Monday‑Saturday 9.00 am to 6.00 pm (consideration for 32‑hour 4‑day weeks).
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary inclusive of commission based on target sales. Additional benefits include mileage reimbursement, staff discount, pension, 20 days holiday plus 8 statutory days.
