Finance Assistant – Purchase Ledger

This is a full‑time, permanent role working Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., fully on‑site, at our client in Banbury.

Pay range: £23,000 – £23,000 (provided by Force Recruitment and Outsourcing). Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.

Roles and responsibilities
  • Account Payable – process invoices, verify accuracy, obtain approvals, enter in the accounting system, and prepare payments.
  • Liaise with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Service Departments to resolve queries.
  • Bank reconciliation, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Creditors reconciliation, investigating discrepancies between supplier statements and internal records.
  • Financial reporting – assist with monthly statements, variance analysis, and cash‑flow projections.
  • Compliance – ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and assist with audits.
  • Administrative support – answer phones, respond to inquiries, and assist with special projects.
  • Adhere to QMS processes and procedures; highlight any changes to the line manager or RP.
Key skills/experience
  • Prior experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably corporate or within the healthcare industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage 200, SAP Business One) is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Excellent organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information discreetly.
