A fantastic position has arisen within an independent top 100 accountancy practice for the role of Accounts and Advisory Manager. This crucial role supports the firm’s growth plans across its individual offices.
The successful candidate will manage and develop a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high‑quality accountancy and tax planning services, and playing a key role in team development. If you are a qualified accountant with strong portfolio‑management experience, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities- Client Service & Portfolio Management – manage a portfolio of rural clients, liaise internally, meet with clients, approve robust tax computations, identify technical issues, deliver complex tax advisory outcomes, maintain technical knowledge, and provide exceptional client service.
- Technical Delivery – demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge and deliver it to clients through robust, effective advisory reporting and guidance.
- Team Leadership & Staff Development – manage and develop the team, conduct reviews, provide feedback, delegate appropriately, and build a confident, technically capable team.
- Operational Efficiency & Workflow Management – drive process efficiency and technology adoption, oversee WIP and billing, maintain compliance trackers, drive team productivity through recoveries and chargeable output, ensure files meet quality standards, and support client onboarding.
- Business Development – identify advisory opportunities within existing and new clients, support partners on complex matters, and attend external events to build personal and firm profile.
- Firmwide Contribution – collaborate with other teams and contribute to wider firm initiatives, including best‑practice and technology projects.
- ACCA, ACA, or CTA qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in an accountancy practice.
- Portfolio management experience.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Experience in a client‑facing role with proactive planning and advisory services.
Pay range: £55,000‑£70,000, dependent on experience.
