Assistant Quantity Surveyor - HS2 Civils Project
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
Job Type: Freelance (Weekly Pay)
Duration: Long-Term with Permanent Opportunity Available
Trades Tech Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering contractor delivering a major package of works on the HS2 project in Banbury.
We are looking to speak with experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyors who are looking to develop their career on one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established commercial team on a long-term freelance basis, with the opportunity to move into a permanent position should this suit both parties.
The Role
Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor and wider commercial team, you'll play a key role in the commercial management of a major civils package, supporting the successful delivery of the project from both a contractual and financial perspective.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with the commercial management of a major civils project.
- Supporting the preparation and submission of applications for payment.
- Assisting with subcontractor procurement and management.
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor applications and valuations.
- Supporting the management of variations, compensation events and change control.
- Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting and financial reporting.
- Working closely with site teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned.
- Maintaining accurate project records and commercial documentation.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying or Assistant Quantity Surveying role.
- Previous experience working on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Experience administering or working under NEC contracts is highly desirable.
- Exposure to CEMAR is advantageous.
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent organisational skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across site and commercial teams.
- Full UK driving licence.
