Are you an experienced Hygiene professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact? We’re supporting a leading food manufacturing site in their search for a proactive and knowledgeable Hygiene Supervisor to join their team.
This position plays a key role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation and compliance across the site. You’ll be responsible for leading a dedicated hygiene team, ensuring all processes meet Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards and supporting continuous improvement across the operation.
The Role
As Hygiene Supervisor, you will:
Act as the link between production, quality, H&S, engineering, HR and maintenance teams.
Lead, organise and support the hygiene team to ensure all sanitation plans are delivered effectively.
Manage day‑to‑day people matters including absence, performance and general team wellbeing.
Ensure all food safety, allergen, sustainability and customer standards are consistently met.
Oversee stock control of chemicals, PPE and cleaning equipment.
Participate in internal audits (HACCP, food safety, sustainability, QMS) and support external and customer audits.
Implement and maintain cleaning programmes, procedures and work instructions.
Deliver training to ensure colleagues remain up to date with best practice and legislative requirements.
Report any food safety, environmental or H&S concerns promptly.
Provide cover for the Hygiene Manager during periods of absence.
About You
We’re looking for someone who brings:
Experience as a Hygiene Operator/Supervisor within food manufacturing.
Strong understanding of GMP, hygiene standards and safe working practices.
Awareness of HACCP and COSHH requirements.
Ability to problem‑solve and drive continuous improvement.
Confident communication and team‑leadership skills.
Experience coaching and empowering teams.
High‑level platform licence and/or confined space training (or willingness to be trained).
Food Safety Level 2 qualification (advantageous).Why Apply?
