This position will carry out tasks in the Millroom department. This includes each area of the Millroom including Banbury, Chemical Weigh Up, Warm Up Mill, Slab Off Mill. The candidate will be responsible for operating equipment in an efficient and safe manner following all processes to produce a quality compound to manufacturing specifications.

• Use of Millroom, controls, temperature recorder, cycle clock in all areas
• Correct use of all control systems
• Understand and complete all duties in the mixing process including but not limited to:
• Understand basic principles of how Banbury mixes rubber
• Understand raw material codes and names
• Read and understand mixing instructions
• Understand use of and ability to identify accelerators, cure, types of oils and DLC’s
• Understand importance of batch to batch uniformity for die size control
• Checking batch before mix to ensure all items are available
• Follow all standard operating procedures for the Millroom department
• Demonstrate knowledge of slab off dip
• Demonstrate a sense of urgency in job completion
• Complete in process inspection sheets accurately and timely
• Clean up and maintenance duties of equipment and work area
• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area within the department
• Complete daily production reporting neatly
• Complete inventory process as required
• Each area will rotate within the department
• Perform all job responsibilities within the department as required

• Ability to move/lift 50 lbs
• Ability to read a blueprint and tape measure
• Work in area that can be dusty
• Basic reading, writing and math skills
• Lifting, bending required
• Ability to work independently or with a team with solid communication skills
• Strong attention to detail for quality assurance
• Experience in manufacturing environment
• Able to work on feet for extended periods of time—at least 8 hours a day
• Must work overtime as required
• Willingness and ability to work in a warehouse with minimal temperature control, exposure to local temperature variations (hot & cold)
• Must follow all safety procedures
