Deputy Sister​/Charge Nurse

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and innovative nurse to join our Haematology DTU team as a deputy nurse manager to help the team achieve the best care for patients and the safe administration of SACT. This is a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

• Assist the unit nurse manager in providing clinical and managerial leadership for staff and the safe delivery of the SACT service, ensuring systems and processes are up to date.
• Be part of our multi-disciplinary team (MDT), ensuring patients attending the DTU are cared for to the highest possible standard.
• Contribute to the development of clinical practice in a positive manner in order to maintain a consistent, motivated day-treatment focus.
• Be available to travel between DTUs at the Churchill and Horton hospitals to assist where required.

• Experienced in the administration of SACT.
• Capable of communicating sensitively and effectively with patients, their carers and all members of the MDT.
• Excellent team player.
• Full induction and training provided; role supervised and linked to competencies with a pre-arranged completion time frame.
