Instrument Technician
Location:
Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau, Indonesia
Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) is looking for a skilled and motivated Instrument Technician to support the reliability, maintenance, and performance of our world-class viscose rayon manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of field instruments and control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation issues to ensure safe and reliable plant operation.
- Calibrate and maintain process instruments including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzers, and control valves.
- Inspect, test, and maintain transmitters, sensors, actuators, and other instrumentation equipment.
- Support shutdown, turnaround, and plant improvement projects.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company procedures.
- Review and update maintenance records, calibration reports, and equipment history.
- Work closely with Operations, Reliability, and Engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's Degree (S1) in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related disciplines.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Instrument Technician in continuous process industries such as Pulp & Paper, Petrochemical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Power Plant, Textile, or Manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of industrial instrumentation, control valves, transmitters, analyzers, PLC, and DCS systems.
- Familiar with calibration, loop checking, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and permit-to-work systems.
- Able to read P&, instrument loop diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Willing to be based in Pangkalan Kerinci, Riau.
- Experience working in chemical manufacturing, viscose rayon, pulp & paper, or textile industries will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance and reliability concepts.
- Knowledge of SAP PM or other CMMS systems is preferred.
